Morning chums,
Well you might have heard this one already but still – hope you love it.
Day 3 is the current nation’s favourite single Cause & Effect. We love a big beat and a pitch shifted vocal. This has got both of them.
Have a lovely day everyone.
Henry & House xx
Let’s see what these guys think about this one. Mhhh – Quantum physics…fascinating…
We had to make a video really quickly. This was shot in a bout a day and a half January 7th and 11th 2025. It was cold and grey and we didn’t really know what the video was. But I think it kind of works becuase we didn’t have time to think it through properly. Also the 2 out takes below are well funny
Here is a Spotify playlist of some of the songs that informed Cause & Effect. Also just a few tracks that we think go nicely with the others. We know that not everyone has Spotify so here is a list of the songs and there are some Youtube videos of tracks below too.
Cause and effect
Those plays they haven’t happened yet
A tree falls in a forest
No one hears it
No it doesn’t
Who dares question the assumptions
They Make life better
Do they?
Don’t they?
“I hate you
You’re so petty”
Let’s do luncheon
Let’s do humping
Let’s bang on the breakfast island
Form over function
You’ve got to wish a lot harder
Got to be a solution
Nah fuck it there’s nothing
Let’s get drunker
The belly is excruciating
Morning after ever after ever after
Can this rust bucket go any faster?
Put some welly into it
You’re not trying hard enough
Ignore the nay sayers
A few more exceptional breakthroughs and we’ll be laughing all the way to the majors
I can’t wait for the hey days
The big pay days
Trade in your sanity for an office away day
Oh Please
Cause and effect
These plays they haven’t happened yet
When push comes to shove
Question giver or receiver
In an echo of a ripple of a long lost people pleaser
Drinking fat and eating salt peter
Here enters the lumbering machines to solve the daily brain teaser
It’s easy
Pulling these Horse drawn thoughts
You ought to be Putting food on the table
But our investigations suggest
All structures are unstable and unable to support the weight of your libido
Mums the word
Breathe the ether
Christ your eager
A leader
Bible fodder I can tell by the dogma collar
And there’s a aroma of patchouli and urea
Hold on tight
Nope it’s hold on lighter
Wipe that smile on your face
There nothing to see here
Secondary Vocal
The stones arrive
With their own sense of purpose
Won’t make the same mistake twice
100 percent learning
The tide turns for no man
I wouldn’t mind if I thought that you were lying
I wouldn’t mind if I thought you told the truth
Cause and effect
Those plays they haven’t happened yet
I’m not debating I’m depicting
Arguably the only realistic picture
known all too well by the atheist and the god of scripture
The experience is common
But the words are a bit different
Cheeky little bugger
Little bit of mischief
Don’t worry we’re none the wiser
No one’s listening
And you don’t have to admit to it either
Pull aside the fig leaf
Let’s see what’s causing all the karma
Aww It’s harmless
Just like a little lipstick
Blink and you’d miss it
There’s a cream you can get for that
Pop it on your wish list
But don’t Google it
Not if you don’t want it showing up in your history
If there was a history
Which there isn’t
I really like the bit where you sing the name of the song as the chorus
And you all sing your own harmonies
You all sing it together in harmony
Cause and effect
Those plays they haven’t happened yet
You like that?

Some notes on the Super ltd edition Photogram Vinyl Collectors set.
We decided that it would be nice to do 100 completely individual album covers for the Super Ltd album. And I came up with the idea of doing a series of photograms using vintage doilies like the one on the front of standard artwork.
Photograms are very basic photographic technique but one that was used to great effect by Photographers such as Man Ray.
The technique is laying objects onto photographic paper and then exposing them to the light before developing. Solid objects will appear white and objects that the light can pass through will be varying shades of grey, such as feathers, leaves and… DOILYS.
I haven’t been in a dark room for about 25 years, and it was generally accepted amongst my art college friends that I was the worst photographer! I am still a bad photographer.
However, I can lay stuff on paper so this is the perfect medium for me.
Here are a few photos I took while working on the Sleeves.
I took a long time but I am pleased with the way they came out.
Its’ also worth mentioning that we hit upon the doily idea because it was a sort of cultural anachronism. A leftover from another era that no longer really has much use and has fallen from popularity. We thought that it fitted well with the concept of “Landfill” and things left behind and forgotten.
Each album also has some more landfill slipped inside. I found some collections of old photos and postcards, some with messages and scrawled annotations. Some tell a story and some just gives clues about the another life in another time.
All the recycled fabric sleeves were made by our mum. She’s a legend. I did just two and it took me about 4 hours so god knows how she managed to do the other 98.
Big UP to Margaret!
Love House.
You might be wondering about the meaning behind the song.
All I know is that our concept of time seems to be slightly faulty. I have always felt that when you see a timeline drawn on a whiteboard at school, it misses something fundamental about our real experience of time.
“Now” is just the dot in the middle of the time line (if the time line passes through the present of course). According to a time line, “Now” is just one of many similar moments. But it misses the fundamental difference between “Now” and any other time in that “Now” is the only one that arguably exists: All the other moments are just thoughts – you can only think about yesterday lunch time or tomorrow lunch-time.
Maybe time isn’t really doing the thing we all say it is. Even Einstein thought it:
And if time is illusory then the idea that doing one thing (eating too many pies for lunch), leads directly to the later event (I have stomach ache), must be called into question./ And if it is that what are we all doing sitting around worrying about the future and being sad about the loss of the past?
A lot of our problems are based in time (What’s going to happen, imagining the worst case scenario, stressing about retirement and pensions, all that shiz). Without time we have much less anxiety and fear. Thats a massive over simplification and I’m explaining it badly. There’s nothing wrong with making sure you are at the bus stop on time so I get to the cinema before the film starts, but I just think it’s interesting that we thing we can map out the universe in little chains of events that really don’t exist in isolation.
OK yeah i’ll shut the fuck up……
Interesting article here on Cause & Effect:
See you tommozza.
